Switzerland: Commis Chef

$3Ci>Swirzerland 2000 - 2001

My life during 6 months internship as a pastry commis chef in Grand Hotel Giessbach.
The hotel is basically only open from spring to end of summer, in a small town called Brienz. Very beautiful scenery over the Brienz Lake.  We lived in the hotel dorm together with most of the staffs.

Switzerland: Being a Student in Luzern

Switzerland 2000 - 2001

I have such sweet memories during my 1 year living in Switzerland. I attended a European Culinary Arts class at DCT Swiss Hotel Management School in Luzern. Then had my 6 months internship as a pastry commis chef in Grand Hotel Giessbach in Brienz. Swiss is indeed a very beautiful country and the people are so nice and friendly. It's one of my most favourite country in the world.
About DCT, the location was in Halden Strasse with a beautiful scenery of Lake Luzern just across the road. The students were mixed from many countries and we lived in the school dormitory. I was glad that it wasn't difficult for me to adapt. Because going to Switzerland was like the bravest thing I've done at that time, since nobody accompany me and I didn't know anybody there. I was all by myself  and first time to live aboard, far from my family.

Japan: First Trip to Ultra Modern Country

Japan, December 2001

I hardly remember now the places we visited at that time. It was quite exciting to see all those ultra modern stuffs that Japanese invented. It's just beyond imagination.
Well, I didn't have a decent camera by then.....so please excuse the low quality pictures :p

My precious moments

When I was a kid, I was kind of a tomboy girl. I don't really like girly things such as doll or wearing pretty dress. Most of the time I would just wear shorts and t-shirt. Maybe because I was the only girl and spent my time with my 2 older brothers. My lil' sister was born when I was 8 years old. So yeah....I thought I was a boy before, hihihihi.
We used to go for a weekend getaway to fishing in the beach. We would build and stay overnight in a beach tent. And the next morning we grilled the fish, squid or shrimp that Dad has catched. I really miss those times. Even though I got lots of mosquito bites all over my body......but I was happy and couldn't wait for the weekend and a  new adventure.

one of the fishing trips......having yummy grilled fish for breakfast :D

hurry up Dad......I'm hungry :p

fishing with my cousin in Bali
You're all will always be in my heart

horse riding......another "not so girly" hobby

About

This blog is mainly about my life and my journey around the globe.
I feel so lucky for having such amazing parent who love traveling and have always took me along since I was 1 year old. I had countless trips to Hong Kong and Taiwan. Dad used to visit both countries every 3 months for business. And we would stay there up to 1 month each trip. So I'm quite familiar with the area, people and culture.
Nowadays we only go to Hong Kong once every year to visit Granny's sister. And other time we prefer to visit countries that we haven't been to before. I really enjoy visiting new places that never failed to amaze me. Because for me every country is very unique and it's always good to see and learn new things.

Beside traveling, I also have a huge passion for food. I've always love food since I was a kid but it became more serious when I attended hotel school after highschool.
I graduated and got my diploma of European Culinary Arts from DCT Hotel School in Luzern, Switzerland and diploma of Superior Pâtisserie  from London Le Cordon Bleu, UK.
I really love anything about food. So I'll definitely share my culinary adventure.
And since blogging is very new to me.....please bear with me if I make mistake every now and then.

Cheers
